• Every payment goes through our resident portal or our office — nowhere else.
• You’ll always tour or apply first. No deposit before you’ve been inside and approved.
• We never hand over keys or a code for cash in a parking lot or a driveway.
• Our staff give you their name and this office number and are happy to wait while you call it back.

03 — What a rental scam looks like

Any one of these means stop

• The “owner” only communicates by text or email and won’t get on a call.
• They want a deposit or application fee before you’ve ever been inside.
• They ask you to pay by an app or card that can’t be reversed.
• The price feels far too low for the home.
• They say they’re out of state, out of the country, or a missionary.
• The photos are ours — sometimes with our watermark still on them — but the phone number isn’t.
